Julie Forstadt, DDS

Dentist in Sonoma, CA

Dr. Julie Forstadt graduated in the top 10% of her class from UCSF School of Dentistry in 1989.  Her undergraduate degrees include an AS from Crafton Hills College and a BS in Biology from San Diego State University .  Dr. Julie was born in Southern California but spent many summers helping out in her uncle Gary F. Neal's Dental Office in Napa... hence her fascination with Dentistry began.

Upon graduating, Dr. Julie started her own practice in Sonoma in the restored hisoric home at 763 Broadway shared by Dr. Kristin and their wonderful group of ladies.  After all these years, it has become her second home and second family.  She considers Dentistry to be the perfect blend of science, art, healthcare and psychology and takes great pride and joy in the care of her patient's needs and desires to keep them smiling.

Dr. Julie is a member of the American Dental Society , California Dental Association , Napa Solano Dental Society , certified by the World Clincal Laser Institute and member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society .

Dr. Julie and her husband Dave live in Napa with 2 dogs, 3 cats, 1 cockatiel, and 8 chickens. (Thankfully the horses are boarded elsewhere!)  Their daughter, Camille graduated from Western University as a DVM and is practicing veterinary medicine. Their son, Daniel, is working as a mechanical engineer.

Dr. Julie's passion (and therapy) is painting with watercolor.  Her art can be seen decorating the office, this website and her FaceBook page.  She is also an avid anglophile of Tudor history, loves trips to the beach, long walks with Ruby and Sherman, her standard poodles, and fostering bottle baby kittens, one of which found his permanent home with her as he has cerebellar hypoplasia and requires special care.

Linda: Registered Dental Hygienist

I was born in San Francisco, raised in Marin, and attended Fresno State, then UCSF, where I graduated with a BS in Dental Hygiene.

I have always been interested in health care so going into dental hygiene worked out great for me- it gave me the flexibility to work in my profession and raise my four children. I have worked in this office since 1984.  I feel fortunate to both live and work in Sonoma: I know most of my patients not only from work but from school, sports, church and the neighborhood!

I am a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association and California Dental Hygiene Association and laser certified.

I try my best at all times to help my patients become as healthy as they can be.  I love to learn and everyday I come to work, I learn something new.  When my patient sits down in my dental chair, I try to figure out what it will take for them to keep their teeth and gums healthy.  What can I do to help them reach their optimum oral health while respecting their wants and needs?

When not working, I'm probably at Disneyland, reading, working out, walking with my husband or friends, or spending time with my children and grandchildren.

Trish: Registered Dental Hygienist

I was born in Santa Rosa, moved to Sonoma when I was Five years old and have lived here ever since.  I began my dental career in 2002 as a Dental Assistant and eventually took the State Board Exam to earn my Registered Dental Assistant License.  I loved working as an RDA but wanted to further my dental education so I decided to go to Dental Hygiene School.  I graduated from Santa Rosa Junior College Dental Hygiene program in 2011.  I love getting to know my patients on a personal level as well as educating them on the importance of good oral hygiene. When I'm not working, I am spending most of my time with my family.  I have three kids that keep me very busy.

Jannell: Registered Dental Assistant

I was born and grew up in Chico.  One afternoon in high school, I responded to a random request from a local dentist for a student intern. I was instantly hooked!  Over three decades later, I still enjoy dentistry and am constantly learning and evolving.

Our family moved to Sonoma and I began working for Dr. Kristin in 1983.  Living in Sonoma has given me the wonderful opportunity to know most of our patients- both inside and outside of work!  Both my son and daughter grew up in Sonoma and I keep busy with my seven grandchildren.

I take pride in always perfecting my technical skills, from custom temporaries to challenging xrays.  I have the freedom to advocate for our patients... they are always our first priority!

When I am not working, I enjoy gardening, going to the gym, and watching my grandkids' sports from baseball and football to gymnastics... and of course watching the Warriors!

Deanna: Registered Dental Assistant

I was born and raised in Sonoma and have been working with these wonderful ladies since 1988 when I was graduated from high school.  I have been Dr. Julie's primary assistant since 2001.  My favorite part about being in the Dental field is seeing someone get their smile back.  No matter how big or small the procedure could be, seeing our patients light up and grin from ear to ear is the best reward I could get. Working in this office has definitely given my many years of rewarding smiles.

When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children, who have grown up in this office and consider everyone family.  We enjoy watching movies, playing games, listening to music and going to the occasional Sharks or Giants games.

I couldn't imagine working anywhere else!
